Ce dimanche 22 mai ont eu lieu les Billboard Music Awards, une cérémonie qui récompense chaque année les grands gagnants du classement du Billboard. Cette année, ce sont The Weeknd et Adèle qui ont incontestablement raflé le plus grand nombre de prix : huit trophées pour le premier, cinq pour la deuxième. La Britannique a été la gagnante des catégories Meilleur artiste et Meilleure artiste féminine.
The Weeknd quant à lui s’est démarqué notamment grâce à ses singles lui permettant de se distinguer dans les catégories Meilleure chanson R&B, Meilleures ventes de chanson, Meilleure chanson à la radio et Meilleure chanson en streaming entre autres. L’interprète de “Cant’ Feel Myself” a d’ailleurs dédié l’un de ses prix à Prince.
Nommé dans 11 catégories, Justin Bieber, grand favori, n’est pourtant reparti qu’avec deux trophées (Meilleur artiste masculin et meilleur artiste des réseaux sociaux). Même scénario pour Drake qui n’a remporté qu’un seul prix (Meilleur artiste rap)
